South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) is working with Macani, a highly respected Abu Dhabi based organisation with a mission to develop and extend high quality mental health care across the United Arab Emirates.
‘Maudsley Health, Abu Dhabi’ has provided CAMHS services in Abu Dhabi for over two years. The approach is innovative and exciting and is generating significant interest across the Region. Adult mental health services opened more recently and is developing high quality care pathways.
The service has a core group of staff based in the UAE with visiting clinicians from SLaM providing additional resource and expertise. The plan is to replicate this model across the region as part of our ambitious strategy. As a result, we are looking for additional high calibre, experienced staff, who engage well with patients and are committed to delivering the highest possible quality service using evidence-based practice. This is a truly exciting and unique opportunity to be part of a senior and experienced team to work in the new collaboration between Maudsley Health and the Ministry of Health and Prevention to support the development of a Centre of Excellence. You would be working closely with experienced Director level staff from the Maudsley and the in house leadership team at the Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital. This is a rare opportunity to be able to support the further development of existing services and influence and shape new services in great facilities. Required for Dubai:

A thorough induction programme will be offered along with a commitment to continuing professional development. Some teaching and training can be delivered remotely using advanced technology. Direct supervision will also be available within the service.
The possibility of a permanent post with the trust if returning to the UK can be discussed as part of the package for some posts.
As this is still a new and developing initiative a degree of flexibility and creativity will be required together with an appreciation of relevant cultural issues. Of greatest importance is the ability to deliver high quality, evidence based care.
The ability to speak Arabic is an advantage but is not essential.
The successful applicants will need to fulfil the professional registration requirements of the Health Authority, Abu Dhabi or the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
