This intensive 6-days accredited clinical skills course explores the philosophy and neuroscience of the Schema Therapy model. You will be taught the core concepts and principles of this evidence based talking therapy. Our experienced trainer will help you with the practical application of these techniques in your own clinical practice, supporting patients with a diverse range of mental health disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Avoidant Personality Disorder, Complex PTSD and Addiction.
Led by our expert trainer with nearly two decades of frontline clinical practice in mental health settings, the course is delivered through a combination of theoretical and experiential learning. He will use direct teaching, live practice and group discussions to ensure an energetic and engaging learning forum.

The International Society of Schema Therapy is an international body that oversees training in schema therapy. The ISST accredits schema therapy training centres and also offers accreditation as schema therapists to practitioners licenced to practice in their home countries. There are specialist accreditations in group schema therapy, child and adolescent schema therapy and schema therapy for couples.

Dr. Ahmed Hanafy Mahmoud is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist Ph.D. at Maudsley Health. He has over 19 years of clinical experience delivering evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy (ST), successfully treating adults with a range of mental health illnesses. Dr. Ahmed has specialist interest in Addiction, Rehabilitation, Personality Disorders, PTSD and Complex Trauma, Sexual Disorders and OCD.
Dr. Ahmed is a certified trainer of Schema Therapy. He is a recognised supervisor and Advanced Schema Therapist with the International Society of Schema Therapy ‘ISST’. He is the Regional Co Ordinator of Schema therapy for North Africa and Arab Countries and a member of the ISST Individual Certification Committee. He is the Founder of the Egyptian Institute of Cognitive Therapies and Schema Therapist Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed is an experienced instructor and renowned speaker having presented and delivered specialist presentations and workshops on Schema Therapy and CBT within the United Arab Emirates, the GCC region and internationally. These include the annual Abu Dhabi Integrated Mental Health Conference and WPA Thematic Congress of World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR).
