Arwa Abdou

Arwa Abdou holds a MSc in Clinical Psychology from United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, where she graduated in May 2021. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Counselling from the same university in 2016. Arwa has been licensed by the Department of Health (DOH) since 2022.

With two years of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Arwa provides evidence-based psychological support to individuals facing a range of mental health challenges. Arwa Abdou is a native Arabic speaker and is also fluent in English, allowing her to effectively communicate with clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Her deep understanding of Emirati culture enables her to address culturally sensitive cases with compassion and insight.

Arwa specialises in treating adolescents with mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, and self-harm behaviours. She has a particular interest in working with adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences and emerging personality disorders. Her therapeutic approach is client-centred, focusing on empowering individuals with the skills and tools needed for personal growth and long-term healing.
