Dr. Mohtasim Qamruddin

Dr. Mohtasim Qamruddin brings over 20 years of experience in psychiatry. He completed his core and higher training in Wales, UK, earning his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2011. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (2007) and holds an MSc in Psychiatry from Cardiff University (2009). Dr. Qamruddin has served as a consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist in West Wales, managing a population of approximately 50,000 and leading services in eating disorders and psychotherapy. He also directed the core psychiatry training program in Wales. Dr. Qamruddin specializes in various forms of psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). He obtained his CBT qualification from Oxford University and is accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Since moving to Dubai in 2017, Dr. Qamruddin has served as a consultant psychiatrist and led the inpatient general adult psychiatry service at Al Amal Psychiatry Hospital until October 2021. He provided outpatient services at Health Call Clinic, Dubai Health Care City, offering comprehensive psychiatric and psychotherapy consultations. Since November 2022, he has been with Maudsley Health, leading community psychiatry services and developing community psychiatric care across the northern emirates.
