This week the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) – the largest for mental health care in the UK – is launching a new microsite called Stories of Research to showcase over 50 case studies of its most impactful research into mental health and neurological disorders. The NIHR Maudsley BRC works together with SLaM and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, to bring together scientists, clinicians, industry, government, service users and carers to produce and translate research into healthcare. It is really good to see how this research is having a direct impact on people in our communities. Next week is both Brain Awareness Week and Healthcare Science Week, so look out on social media as they will be sharing some of their case studies to celebrate their research in these areas.
