Dr Basma Samir Suliman

Dr. Basma Samir Suliman Hussein obtained her MD certificate from Oman Medical College in 2013, she then began her internship and training in various medical specialties, including sub-specialties.
Subsequently, she had the opportunity to work as a general practitioner in an emergency department that
catered to all specialties. Dr. Basma then completed a 4-year psychiatry residency program at Al Amal
Psychiatry Hospital, training in general adult psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, child and adolescent
psychiatry, older adult psychiatry, community psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and
psychotherapy. Dr. Basma is proud to say that her background and expertise have led to her current
passion for practicing psychiatry from a holistic perspective and her deep interest in integrative
psychiatry.

She is currently practicing at Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, a general hospital, in the outpatient
clinic and as part of the liaison service. Managing patients from all walks of life with comorbid
disorders allows Dr. Basma to efficiently utilize all her previous training and experience. This
post also allows Dr. Basma to pursue her passion for teaching students and residents about the
importance of the interplay between the mind and body.
