Dr J. Myanthi Lennox BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, DclinPsy, has joined Maudsley Health as a Principal
Clinical Psychologist. Prior to joining the team at Maudsley Health, she was based at the
Traumatic Stress Clinic, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in London, which is a
specialist service that provides treatment for those experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD) and Complex-Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD).
Dr Lennox has over fifteen years’ experience in both research and clinical settings. A key theme
of Dr Lennox’s published research has been on improving the provision of care in clinical mental
health settings and on improving the longer-term mental wellbeing of those who have had
difficult childhood experiences. Clinically, she has spent several years specialising in the
treatment of psychological trauma and anxiety disorders. During this time, she has worked
across several National and Specialist Services within the South London and Maudsley NHS
Foundation Trust. These included services that specialise in the treatment of PTSD and C-PTSD,
Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder, Bipolar and Related Disorders and Perinatal Services.
Dr Lennox completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DclinPsy) at the Institute of
Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and the South London
and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to this, she completed her PhD in Psychology at the
Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry Centre, IoPPN, King’s College London. She also
holds an MSc in Research in Psychology from the University of Oxford, and a BSc (Hons) in
Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol.
Dr Lennox has completed further post qualification specialist training in Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy for a range of clinical presentations, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Compassion
Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She is also a trained EMDR Therapist (UK and
Europe).
Dr Lennox provides clinical and professional supervision to licensed and trainee Clinical Psychologists.
Whilst based in Abu Dhabi, she remains as a Clinical Tutor and Research Supervisor on the
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme at the IoPPN, King’s College London and holds Honorary Clinical contracts with both the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and the
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in London.
