Adolescent Mental Health Service at Maudsley Health. He earned his BA in Psychology in
2015 and MA in Clinical Psychology in 2018 from the American University of Beirut in
Lebanon. He completed his clinical training with an emphasis in child and adolescent mental
health at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He later fulfilled his post–
graduate training with the School Neuropsychology Institute in Texas, after which he was
awarded board certification by the American Board of School Neuropsychology.
Mohamad has over seven years of training and experience working in clinical settings as
part of multi-disciplinary teams in both Lebanon and the UAE, providing best practices in
assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and their families. In parallel, he has
worked alongside governmental and non–governmental organizations in Lebanon, authoring
and consulting on projects that advocated for the safety and welfare of victims of child abuse
and minority individuals in the region.
Mohamad works with children and young people presenting with a range of emotional,
behavioural, and social challenges associated with anxiety, depressive, obsessive–
compulsive, adjustment, and disruptive behaviour disorders in addition to self-, identity-, and
interpersonal-related issues. He utilises an integrative, person-centered approach to
treatment, borrowing from evidence-based interventions, namely Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy as well as Psychodynamic and Positive Parenting principles. Mohamad also has a
special interest in working with and supporting neurodiverse children and their families. He is
trained and experienced in conducting diagnostic psycho-educational and cross-battery
neuropsychological assessments using standardised tools that are tailored to school-aged
children and adolescents with suspected developmental and learning delays. He works
closely with the young ones as well as their families and schools, supporting them through
the complex diagnostic process and customizing treatment plans to meet their individual
needs.
